Meet the Author
Beverly Cleary loved books from the time she was old enough to appreciate them. Did you know that her town was so small that they didn't even have a public library? Her mother asked for books from the state of Oregon so that she could open a small library at the top of a bank building. Beverly loved to read but couldn't find the types of books that she wanted to read. So, she began writing funny stories about silly characters including Ramona Quimby and Henry Huggins.
